APPOINTED AS SPECIAL DEPUTY RECEIVER

OF XANTUS HEALTHPLAN OF TENNESSEE, INC.

 

 

            Paula A. Flowers, a founding member of Farmer & Luna, PLLC, has been appointed Special Deputy Receiver (Rehabilitator) of Xantus Healthplan of Tennessee, Inc., a TennCare managed care organization that is responsible for the managed health care of approximately 150,000 Tennesseans.  Flowers’ appointment, effective September 6, 2002, was made by Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner Anne B. Pope.  As Special Deputy Receiver, Flowers is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of Xantus while it remains under Court-supervised receivership (rehabilitation). 

 

            Prior to her appointment, Flowers was one of several attorneys providing legal advice to Commissioner Pope and to former Xantus Special Deputy Receivers.  She continues to maintain an active practice with Farmer & Luna, PLLC, including serving as Special Counsel to the Special Deputy Liquidator for Tennessee Coordinated Care Network, another TennCare managed care organization that is in the process of liquidation.
