GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES
DISCUSS CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL
ISSUES AT TENNESSEE CONSERVATION
LEAGUE’S ANNUAL MEETING CHAIRED BY
MIKE PEARIGEN OF FARMER & LUNA

Conservation and environmental topics were the issues of the day on April 13, 2002, as four gubernatorial candidates participated in the Candidates Forum sponsored by the Tennessee Conservation League during its 56th Annual Meeting at the Marriott Cool Springs Conference Center in Franklin, Tennessee.  Democrats Phil Bredesen and Charles Smith and Republicans Van Hilleary and Jim Henry addressed a crowd of approximately 200 during the two hour-long program in which the candidates were allotted 30 minutes each to discuss their positions and answer questions from the audience.

Farmer & Luna member Mike Pearigen chaired the TCL Annual Meeting Committee which was responsible for the Annual Meeting and Candidates Forum.  He served as a member of TCL’s Board of Directors from 1994 until this year’s Annual Meeting.
